Stories shaped by stone and sea. We make games rooted in the ancient, strange, and beautiful landscape of Orkney.
The Studio
Hoxa Games is an independent games studio based in Orkney, Scotland, an archipelago of standing stones, Norse sagas, and skies that defy description. We're here because place matters. The land we work on shapes everything we make.
We create games that lean into myth, mystery, and the quiet power of landscape. Not as backdrop. As foundation. Our worlds feel like somewhere real, because they come from somewhere real.
We're a small studio with big ambitions, just getting started. If you want to follow the journey, be part of what we build, or collaborate, we'd love to hear from you.
Minecraft Marketplace
Hoxa Games is a Minecraft Marketplace Partner, publishing imaginative and educational content for players worldwide under the banner of The Wizard and Wyld. With over 20 titles on the Minecraft Bedrock Marketplace, we've built worlds for some remarkable partners — from The Crown Estate to the International Judo Federation — as well as a catalogue of purely playful adventures.
Whether you're exploring the human body from the inside, designing an offshore wind farm, or simply hanging out in a giant working piano, The Wizard and Wyld brings the same love of craft and curiosity to every world we build.
If you have an idea for an educational experience, a branded world, or just something wonderfully strange — we'd love to hear from you.

In Development
A narrative-led photography game about chosen solitude and the quiet work of learning to see differently. You arrive alone on a camera club holiday to a small Orkney harbour, convinced that creativity is something earned through technical competence. Over a finite number of days, that belief gently dissolves. Explore the coast, photograph what you notice, develop your images at the Old Bicycle Shop, and keep a journal that slowly reveals how your way of seeing the world is changing. The game ends with a ferry home at sunset — carrying nothing except the experience itself.
In Development
A survival dating roguelike set in a modern supernatural world. Dating can sometimes feel like a dungeon run: monsters, traps, barely making it out with your sense of self intact. Swipe through vampires, werewolves, and old souls on the Flame dating app. Doomscroll their digital footprint, collect Insight and Boundary cards, and use them in sharp, dialogue-driven dates to spot toxic patterns before things get… complicated.
